From 1 April 2026, West Midlands Growth Company will become the regional body responsible for the delivery of economic development across the West Midlands.
The new blended model brings together Business Growth Support, Investment, High Growth Cluster Management, the Visitor Economy, Future Workforce and Regional Promotion into a single, coordinated system. It offers a clearer, more joined-up West Midlands offer to the world.

Why Now
The West Midlands Growth Plan sets a clear direction of economic development, aligning strategy and delivery more closely and strengthening accountability across the system.
The WMCA Board has confirmed a strengthened mandate and multi-year funding, providing greater certainty and the ability to plan for long-term economic impact.
Bringing economic development functions together under West Midlands Growth Company creates a clearer, more coordinated offer for businesses and investors, and a stronger platform for delivery.
We are building the team that will take this model forward from April 2026.
