Who are we?
The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is the region’s economic development delivery organisation.
From April 2026, we will lead the delivery of regionally commissioned economic development activity aligned to the West Midlands Growth Plan, working in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and local authorities.

The Role
As our new Regional Talent Liaison Executive, you'll play a key role in connecting workforce, skills and employment solutions with regional economic growth opportunities across the West Midlands. Working closely with WMGC's business-facing teams, the West Midlands Combined Authority and a wide range of regional partners, you'll help ensure workforce requirements are identified early and translated into effective skills, training and employment support. You'll contribute valuable insights that help shape regional skills priorities and improve access to opportunities across the region.
You'll Be Involved In:
- Supporting the integration of workforce, skills and employment solutions into investment and business growth activity.
- Facilitating access to regional skills, training and employment support programmes.
- Building strong partnerships with local authorities, training providers, WMCA and other regional stakeholders.
- Supporting initiatives that promote inclusive growth, workforce development and access to good employment opportunities.
- Gathering and sharing workforce intelligence to help inform regional skills planning and strategy.

- Working with WMGC teams and regional partners to identify workforce requirements and coordinate appropriate skills and employment support solutions.
- Facilitating access to relevant training pathways, apprenticeships, skills programmes and employment support offers.
- Supporting investment, sector growth and business development projects through tailored workforce and skills solutions.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records, referrals and engagement outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with WMCA, local authorities, training providers, employment partners and other regional stakeholders.
- Monitoring outcomes and providing workforce intelligence to support regional skills planning, commissioning and strategy development.
- Promoting regional skills, employment and workforce development opportunities across partner networks.
- Representing WMGC at meetings, events and stakeholder forums.
What You'll Bring
Essential:
• Experience in workforce development, skills, employability, business support, economic development or partnership-based delivery environments.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and maintaining accurate records.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of the skills, employment and workforce development landscape.
• Experience working with public sector organisations, local authorities, education institutions or training providers.
• Understanding of economic development, investment or business growth programmes.
• Experience using labour market intelligence, workforce data or employer insight to inform decision-making.
• Knowledge of regional skills initiatives, pathways and support programmes.
